Vilanculos Beach Lodge is thoughtfully crafted from natural, indigenous materials, including traditional thatch roofing and locally sourced hardwood simbire poles, elegantly paired with soft plaster finishes and timber-framed doors and windows. The result is a refined yet relaxed aesthetic that blends seamlessly with its natural surroundings. The property extends directly onto the beach, with the lodge buildings positioned approximately 100 metres back along the ridge, offering elevated, uninterrupted views of the ocean.
The lodge offers 22 Luxury Double Bungalows and one Family Suite, accommodating up to 48 guests. Discreetly set within private gardens, each suite features a private deck, air-conditioning, an en-suite shower, mosquito net, in-room safe, and coffee and tea-making facilities, complemented by carefully selected amenities for a comfortable and indulgent stay.
Each room is finished with an open-plan bathroom and complimentary toiletries, while selected suites also include a dedicated seating area. Vilanculos Beach Lodge is located just a 15-minute drive from Vilanculos Airport, and a complimentary airport transfer can be arranged on request.

Accommodation is in privately appointed Deluxe Bungalows constructed on ironwood stilts with “majeka” (local thatch) roofs and beautiful mahogany floors. We have 22 bungalows, 7 stand-alone A units and 14 adjoining B units, all of which have en-suite bathrooms with showers, mosquito nets, room safes, coffee and tea facilities, bath robes, a hairdryer and amenities. They are also all air-conditioned for your comfort.
The bungalows are set amidst lush indigenous gardens with private balconies. Most with sea views which offer exceptional views of the sunrise over the ocean. Allowing guests to relax and truly soak up the idyllic atmosphere. Bungalows can be set up as 1 x King size bed or 2 x ¾ beds depending on guests’ requirements. Honeymoon couples will automatically receive a surprise gift.
The restaurant offers an elegant yet relaxed setting, with the choice of dining indoors or on the patio. For a truly indulgent open-air experience, guests may dine beneath swaying palm trees or beside the pool, surrounded by the gentle coastal atmosphere.
